I. Proposal Topic: Health Institutions and Medical Practitioners
II. Summary:
Even before the pandemic, the residents of Calumpit had experienced struggles regarding medical assistance in the Calumpit District. The district hospital and some barangay clinics are undependable due to the insufficiency of medical services and equipment. In addition, the community is lacking with professional medical frontliners and workers.
III. Background Rationale:
· The current situation of Calumpit District hospital has to be addressed for the benefit of the residents, not only for specific patients such as seniors or pregnant women.
· Concerns with the continuous problem of the community have to be tackled with regard to the health facilities and medical support.
· Calumpit District Hospital has to restore better medical services and healthcare rooms.
· Programs and services implemented by the Calumpit District hospital have to be reestablished so there would be no issues about resettling to another hospital outside the municipality.
IV. Description:
The aim of this proposal is to create an overview of the situation of the Calumpit District Hospital after running for several years. Since it was a topic that few citizens had opened up about, in comparison to the interview from the first blog, this would keep a minor review about the community hospital.
Despite the fact that the district had established a public municipality hospital, residents still have to visit provincial hospitals for proper health examinations. It is because the district hospital is inadequate with health supplies and enough insurance for the patients. There are also complaints about the municipality hospital due to the slow approach to services, costly fee charges, and uncooperative health workers.
Requesting an interview with the facilitator or the higher-ups would be an option to formally address the issues about the district hospital. Ordinary citizens can be involved, as long as they would accept to be interrogated about their observations or experiences at the district hospital.
