Within the Lenses: Highlighting the Waste Management in Panasahan

Waste management involves the process of collecting, transporting, disposing, and recycling waste.

As the population rapidly grew, waste management continuously became a challenge around the world. Unsurprisingly, it remains a pressing issue and problem amongst the citizens and officials of Barangay Panasahan.

Similar concerns, sentiments, and voices were voiced regarding their first-hand stories and accounts related to waste management.

According to most citizens, segregation of waste is not observed in the barangay.

Junwell Cabigao, resident of Barangay Panasahan, has shared his concerns. Sa school lang may waste segregation," he said.

Another local, Jhonaceff Dayao has a similar stand. "Waste management problem di napapractice ang paghihiwalay ng mga basura accordingly," she said.

Based on other responses, citizens usually piled and dumped the wastes on-road. Tas parang walang proper segre ung wastes."

Two barangay councilors also shared their views regarding this matter.

Waste Management continues to be a serious problem in many places in the Philippines. If both the citizens and the officials are keen and collectively driven to diminish and resolved the problem surpassing this prevailing concern could be possible.
