Last time, my blog #1 talked about the concerns of the citizens and why they want to resolve these kinds of issues. The people that I interviewed were mostly alarmed by the minors going out in the middle of the night. They roam around as if it’s not dangerous at night and as if the pandemic is not an issue for them. These concerned citizens want this problem to end. They were asking for more strict protocols and to implement the curfew hours around the Malis area.
For this blog, we will dig into Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officers’ perspectives of the current matters of Barangay Malis. We will know how different their points of view are compared to normal citizens that I interviewed and how deep are the problems they want to put an end to.
Figure 1: Respondent #1's Issues That They Want to Focus on
The first respondent, an SK councilor, said that he wants to address the teenage pregnancy issue and the poverty in Malis. As we can see, the problems that he stated are already heavy. I’m amazed by how he wants to talk about these issues to the point that he sympathized with those people who are struggling because they are lacking knowledge about family planning.
Aside from that, he suggested that officials should create seminars and livelihood programs for the citizens of Malis.
Figure 2: Respondent #2's Issues That They Want to Focus on
The second and last respondent which is an SK councilor too disseminates every issue of Malis and divided his statement into four parts. The first paragraph explains issues about children being underweight, PWDs, and senior citizens that need a lot of attention and medical assistance from the higher-ups. The second paragraph talks about environmental issues like the high tide that causes floods in other parts of Malis. The third paragraph discusses the matter concerning peace and silence, he said that,
Lastly, he stated the youth problems, he had this line in this paragraph that really caught my eyes.
In this survey, I heard problems that surely gained my interest. I heard different cries from different people. But they all fall into place. They are all hoping for the betterment of Malis, Guiguinto, Bulacan.
