INTRODUCTION:

People’s reference of community varies in definition guided by an individual’s belief, origin, encounter, or even societal stature. Essentially, these sketched outlines share a parallelism at a certain point, yet the specifics emphasized in various elements may not be complementary to others which is dependent on an individual’s background, thus the diverse and parallel definitions of the mass promote and catalyze the universal definition of community. Customarily, community is being defined as a collection of individuals staying in the same geographical location or settings or in a comparable way, bonded by a shared characteristic, religion, sector, and the like.

To better give light, participation is an instinctual expectation among the members of the community, members partake an impact influential to it may it be intentional or vice versa. As a manifestation, it is intrinsic to claim that the community is interdependent with its participants and the participants to its community. Thus, as a continuation of the recent blog, this article will try to involve other consequential members of the community that is to be discussed thoroughly in the latter part of this.

Naturally, the inception of a community entails roles for each participant, normally divided by the leading unit which governs the community and its citizens who tend to be the people being recognized as the ‘public’ by the leadership. Fundamentally, tribulations rising around the community are of poignant effects to each individual in the community, thus, participatory activities among the citizens and the leading unit are as expected in inhibiting the problems in incurring greater repercussions or better, proposed a resolution to resolve the roots of the issue at hand.

Previously, the analyst was able to gather the voice of the citizens of Marilao, Bulacan towards the community issues they tend see as significant to take actions for. Moreover, it has been accounted on the first blog and in this continuation, we are ought to see the parallelism and diversity towards the perspectives of the governing unit in comparison to the encounters of its citizens.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY:

Perspective can be seen as the two sides of the coin; the front part may tell it is their truth and the back may say likewise. Thus, it engages people to have a wider lens and scope of an occurrence leading to creation of a decision and conclusion that paves the way for course of actions.

By default, a perspective is not wrong or right in any aspect since it is just what it is, the lens of an individual based on their personal dimension. Some perspectives may intertwine, and some may not (Surdek, 2021).

As a further discussion, this blog functions as a continuation of the first blog initially published. At this juncture, we are ought to take a glimpse of the perspectives of the community officials in Marilao, Bulacan in the discussion of the community issues they tend to see around their town. A worthwhile thing to ponder is how these factors of taking both sides will be of significant attempt in listing down the issues the citizens and the leadership are both aware of and in a comparable manner, the issues that are not mentioned. It is giving light on what else could have been done to maintain the community.

The analysis of community hindrances produces a better discernment of the resources needed. And in relation, the right equipment and right resources promote an elevated probability of success towards an endeavor (Community Tool Box, n.d.). Thus, perspectives and issues taken tell something about the community’s contemporary stature and the position of the citizens relevant to the community, the leaders to the community, and the relationship, interconnectedness, and the communication among the citizens to its leadership unit and vice versa.

DATA PRESENTATION:

a. Respondents

The analyst strategically engaged respondents from different barangays around the focused community to observe the dissimilarity and similitude among the answers to be given and with this regard, the analyst followed the methodology of the recently published blog, random sampling. “Random sampling is a part of the sampling technique in which each sample has an equal probability of being chosen. A sample chosen randomly is meant to be an unbiased representation of the total population” (The Economic Times, n.d.). In the same manner, this is to refrain from any observance of impartiality or any strand of biased conclusions towards the interview.

CONCLUSION:

Community leaders function as the prime solvers in the pursuit of the community in initiating resolutions. Consequentially, these resolutions require the fostering of engagement of the community members in coordination with the plan laid by the governing unit. Thus, it is simple to say that for a higher percentage of success, unity must conquer. Yet, the question is what if the issues at hand are only from the surface, the issues that have always been there beforehand. Does that take away the chance for other discussions to be brought up?

Apparently, with the collected data from this survey shows that the officials tend to see three of the most common community issues the citizens were able to mention, namely: Security, Improper Waste Disposal, and Flood Control. These factors hold 41.65% of the issues discussed by the citizens in the previous blog article. Security at 4.16%, Improper Waste Disposal at 20.83%, and Flood Control at 16.66% (see Chart E from Blog 1). However, this does not equate to even half of the community issues the citizens are concerned about. So, the leading question now is, where is the 58.35%? Did the governing unit totally neglect more than half of the tribulations rising around the community? What are the factors hindering them seeing or they just chose not to see? Too many questions arise.

But now, where is the 58.35 %? Please return if found. Reward: Better Community.
