Endless Calls: Looking Further at the Prevailing Waste Management in Panasahan

Topic: Waste Management

Managing waste continues and remains a challenge up until today; thus, it is the most prevalent issue that the majority of the community is concerned with, particularly in Barangay Panasahan. Hence, looking at the existing process, handling, and transportation methods and practices present, still, there are occurring problems that arise that concern both the residents and their local officials. By looking at and analyzing both sides, addressing and voicing out could be a way to establish and address the root cause of the issues.

Rationale:

  • Address the underlying waste management problems experienced amongst the people in the community.

  • Identify the factors and causes of the existing issues.

  • Provide and pinpoint possible solutions that can help this matter.

  • Certain environmental risks and health concerns may be prevented and avoided if all are aware, keen, and coordinated to take action.

Furthermore, to provide a detailed and in-depth story regarding the dilemma, a supplemental and additional gathering of data by conducting a survey or interview would be needed and beneficial. Thus, I'll need to interview the following people who are directly affected by and linked to the said issue: asking at least three (3) to six (6) citizens and a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of three (3) local officials. Options for getting in touch with the interviewees can be written, utilizing Google Forms, through the Messenger application, or face-to-face relying on the convenience and availability of the respondents. In addition, documents, like photos, videos, or infographics, if available, will be considered to be used to support the story. The information obtained will be thoroughly verified, and also the identity of the sources involved will be protected and kept confidential.
