The proposed citizen journalism report will attempt to shed light on the issue the majority of the respondents from the community of Marilao had stated in the surveys done from the first and second blog entry, improper waste disposal. This issue does not confine to the waste of the community alone yet is ofttimes associated with other key issues the community officials and the community members of Marilao, Bulacan had fostered in the survey namely, flooding and the Marilao River which has been declared biologically dead since 1989 and evaluated as the 6th most polluted river in the world in 2020. Waste disposal being seen as a controlled variable, will also efficiently discuss the discipline towards the community members and in relevance to weighing whether community projects towards this issue are enough in the fight for such tribulation, thus, profound cognizance of the surveys from both the community officials and community members are to be expected in relevance to seeking truth for both parties.
Rationale:
To be able to produce a citizen journalism report that is based on factual documents acquired from credible sources.
Bridging the gap between the officials and the members of the targeted community, Marilao in the pursuit of connecting the community members’ experiences and the community officials' observations towards the community.
To create a report that are to involve the intervention of the public in seeing the significance of citizen journalism in creating better community relations.
Finding the clear path of improper waste disposal to connect with the dots of other impelling issues in Marilao and establishing the presence of domino effect of this significant issues in relation to the other community issues stated by the interviewees in the Blog no. 1 and 2.
Branching out the information from both parties involved, the community members and community officials.
To root out the main source of the issue and include reliable sources and studies that are helpful in resolving the community issue at hand.
PLAN OF EXECUTION
Consumers of the media have been the accustomed reference of the majority in the lens of framing the public. Yet in the progression of technology and means in the acquirement of information, competition and uncertainty arise. Confinement of the mass as the consumers is no longer pertinent in the discussion of information dissemination. The mass customarily referred to as the audience perennially walk towards advancement, participatory roles arise through them paving the birth of citizen journalism as an adaptation to the dynamic world. The consumers are no longer recipients, but also sources.
Moving forward, to execute this proposed report, the following will be executed:
Interview with the Community Officials about the Waste Management Program of the Community
The analyst will be connecting with various officials in community to be able to foster a profound understanding of the Waste Programs in the target community, how it is effective at their perspective and if they see something that can still be improved with that.
Interview with the Community Members
This opts to seek feedback from the members of the community in relevance with the analyzation of the effectiveness of the community programs done by the leadership. This will serve as the other side of the story which will evaluate whether the said programs are significant in resolving the community issue at hand or otherwise.
Interview with an Environmentalist
This aspect is focused on seeking for professional aspect and take about the programs done by the local government of Marilao in comparison to the encounters of its people. With this, the story opts to seek credibility from someone who has enough knowledge about waste disposal and environmental facets.
Personal encounter around the community
At this part, I will try to roam around the community seeing for myself how wastes are being disposed of in relation to seeing whether the programs will be mentioned are effective during the observation. This will include documentation of the community’s surroundings, safety in terms of waste disposal with regards to the Marilao River mentioned in the summary of the topic.
