Chosen Topic: Teenage Pregnancy in Barangay Muzon
Topic Summary: A teen pregnancy, also known as an adolescent pregnancy, occurs when a female is under the age of 20, which is not a brand-new issue that the world is dealing with and for several reasons, it has been going on for years in high-, middle-, and low-income nations. According to various research undertaken by the World Health Organization (WHO), one of the major contributors to this problem is a lack of knowledge in the context which has led me into choosing this topic to start a conversation and to provide a safe environment where we can openly discuss this issue, especially in a nation where sexual monologues are a laughingstock. I am convinced that by pursuing
these, we will be able to reduce and, perhaps, eliminate the problem.

Description: In pursuing this citizen journalism report about teenage pregnancy, I need to conduct an interview with a teenage mom, 1-2 officials, and 5-10 random individuals from different age groups of my chosen barangay. The documents that I will be needing are letters of consent in conducting this report, questionnaires for the said interview, the estimated percentage of teenage moms from the barangay, suggested solutions of the barangay officials in mitigating the problem, and research studies about teenage pregnancy. The interview can be documented through written format, it can also be recorded if the interviewee allows me to do so, all documents and information gathered will be handled with confidentiality and will only be used for academic purposes only.
